What our guests say

Relaxing, cozy country getaway

My sister was visiting me in London for a week and we wanted an easy, relaxing getaway from the city. The Shere B&B was exactly what we were looking for!

Martin was super helpful leading up to our visit, confirming the best route via public transportation from London. Our room was comfortable and spacious, complete with a copy of The Holiday DVD. The breakfast spread of fresh pastries, fruit, yogurt, coffees and tea was perfect. Martin was happy to draw up a walking map for us based on our requests (country walk, pub, site-seeing scenes from The Holiday). The location is incredibly convenient - there's a bus stop right out front, and you're a short walk from town which has cute shops and a cozy pub.

Above all, Martin and his family were incredibly warm and welcoming to us throughout our stay. I will be returning when I'm in need of another weekend away!

Lovely - strongly recommended

I stayed at Shere B&B in the middle of summer for one night and it was lovely.

Carol and Martin's house is beautiful, my room on the top floor under the roof was spacious with large windows looking out over the back garden, the bathroom on the landing was modern (and cosy!) with all the towels and amenities I needed, Martin and Carol were welcoming and very helpful (Martin - the Guildford Park Church parking worked out well and was much less expensive than the station!) and breakfast was delicious.

Location-wise the shops and restaurants of Shere are just around the corner and the whole area is green and hilly.

Thank you to Carol and Martin for making my stay so enjoyable.

Relaxing Getaway

My partner and I stayed at this outstanding B&B over a Bank Holiday weekend and were very impressed. It's the little things that set this place out from the others. Upon arrival, we were greeted with two wine glasses and a jug of elder-flower flavoured water. Just what we wanted after traveling via public transport on a super hot day. Our room had large slanted windows which we enjoyed by lying in bed, looking out at the countryside during the day, and gazing at the stars in the night time. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed, and luxurious linen and towels. Martin was most helpful in the lead up to our stay, suggesting the best public transport options, and recommending the best restaurants, with the need to book on a busy weekend. He also gave us hand detailed maps for country walking. This enabled us to get our dose of lush green space, our fix of wild blackberries and get up close and personal with many animals. Carol produced a beautiful breakfast spread both mornings which included freshly baked croissants, pain au raisins, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, tea, coffee and juice. Carol and Martin kindly allowed us to check out a bit later on our last day so we could complete another country walk before departing back to London. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing couples' getaway. Carol and Martin, thank you for a beautiful stay and the lovely conversations we had.

Special weekend of celebration

We had a wonderful stay here. Carol and Martin couldn’t have been more welcoming and they made a big fuss of my mum - the 87 year old birthday girl! The house is beautiful and the bedrooms are spacious yet cosy plus the view from upstairs is stunning. The owners’ recommendations for dining were spot on and we even got a free bottle of bubbly at one local pub when we mentioned Martin’s name! Breakfast was a delightful event: Carol produces a seemingly endless spread of breads, fresh fruit and yoghurts - truly delicious. It’s the little things that make a difference such as a welcome drink, chatting with our hosts and Martin’s lovely daughter researching where I could buy a similar bedspread as I’d admired the design of theirs! We’ll definitely be back some day.

Came from Spain to visit our son in Surrey University for a few days and enjoyed every minute of it. Bruce and his son Nick are the best hosts ever seen in a B&B. Breakfast is absolutely delitious. The last walk around Shere before leaving was amazing. We'll be back soon!

Family Re-union in Beautiful Shere!

Brilliant and beautiful home! Martin, Carol and Nick's hospitality was at it's best, we were made to feel so welcome!! We had a special family reunion in lovely Shere, and spent the weekend in their luxurious home where attention to detail was paramount.

The rooms and bathrooms are stunning, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Not to mention the amazing breakfast in the gorgeous conservatory looking out into the garden! The location is also perfect, only a short walk to Shere village, as well as some gorgeous country walks - not to mention close to Silent Pools, the Gin distillery, and Albury Organic Vineyard!  Thank you all so much for the wonderful warm experience. We can’t wait to return and would highly recommend staying at this B&B!

Lovely visit to Shere and the Surrey Hills

I stayed in the Shere B&B just 2 weeks ago and it was a great experience. Lovely home and the owners Martin & Carol were delightful hosts - they made me feel like family. I awoke every morning to a delicious breakfast served in a beautifully sun-drenched kitchen overlooking the gardens. The location was great, just a 5-minute walk down a charming lane and you are in the middle of Shere, a charming small town with wonderful restaurants, shops, and pubs. I returned in the evening to my very spacious bedroom with ensuite bathroom, beautifully decorated. All in all, I would highly recommend Shere B&B - I would definitely love to return

Very relaxing

This is an excellent place to stay if you're looking for a quiet place to get away. Shere has several options for pubs and restaurants, and the village itself is charming. We stayed in the main bedroom which is very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was breakfast, taken in their very spacious kitchen. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed for a night in the one of the upstairs bedrooms. It was very comfortable, peaceful and warm (even on the weekend we visited that snowed and was minus 1 outside!)

Nick welcomed us when we arrived and was a great host, even kind enough to bring us up a cup of tea when we arrived.

The breakfast served up by Carol was excellent and we enjoyed it very much in the very comfortable (and beautiful) dining room where chat chatted with her, Martin and two other guests.

The place is spotlessly clean and oozes with charm, tranquility and class. In search of a relaxing couple of days out of the city we immediately felt welcome and at ease. We only wished we had more time to stay a day or two longer. We hope to return again soon.

Top class and highly recommended!
